CLEVELAND, OHIO – Cleveland private equity firm CapitalWorks has acquired Paradigm Window Solutions, a leading manufacturer of premium quality custom vinyl windows in the Northeast. Terms of the deal, the fourth for CapitalWorks in the last 12 months, were not disclosed.
Key to the acquisition is the continuing participation of former Simonton Building Products President and COO John Brunett as chairman of Paradigm and Andy Sevier as president. Brunett helped build Simonton from a regional to a national leader in vinyl windows and has been with Paradigm since 2010. Sevier has been with the company for nearly three decades.
“We are excited to partner with the Paradigm team to continue to expand their market presence,” said CapitalWorks Managing Partner and CEO Dick Hollington. “The delivered and installed quality of their premium vinyl windows and doors along with their warranty and support programs are unmatched in the industry.”
Based in Portland, Maine, Paradigm markets through qualified distributors and contractors throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. The company backs units for life with coverage for any labor costs for the first five years, one of the strongest warranties in the industry.
“CapitalWorks will provide us with more than the capital to help us to accelerate our growth,” said Sevier. “Their in-house expertise and the industry knowledge and contacts of their network of advisors will boost our ability to achieve the next level of performance.”
CapitalWorks is the lead equity and controlling investor for the acquisition. The firm typically involves its investors with relevant industry knowledgeable and experience to participate in finding, vetting and guiding portfolio companies.
Ironwood Capital of Connecticut is providing subordinated debt and minority common equity while Texas Capital Bank is senior lender for the Paradigm acquisition.
Paradigm specializes in premium-quality custom vinyl windows and patio doors for new construction, replacement and institutional projects. In 2014, the company consolidated all fabrication operations in its 109,000 square foot Portland facility.
“Management at Paradigm Window Solutions has done a terrific job building exceptional products of lasting value and promoting a customer-centric culture,” said Brunett. “The culture and work ethic of their associates should continue to produce long-term growth and profitability for Paradigm Window Solutions and CapitalWorks.”
