Mikel B. Harding
Managing Director, CFO
Mr. Harding is responsible for the internal financial management of CapitalWorks including investor communications regarding fund performance and tax compliance. Additionally, he manages the financial oversight of the portfolio companies and assists with acquisition due diligence, entity structure and tax planning strategies.
Prior to joining CapitalWorks, Mr. Harding was a partner at Cohen & Company, a regional CPA firm based in Cleveland. During his twenty years in public accounting, he spent time in both the accounting and tax departments where he focused on advising entrepreneurial companies on a wide range of issues, including accounting systems, internal controls, inventory costing, buy-sell agreements, business succession, strategic planning, and tax planning.
In 2005, he formed the firm’s investment banking group which provided lower middle market companies with expertise in capital market transactions in the areas of merger and acquisitions, sell-side representation and divestitures, buy-side due diligence, management buy-outs, capital raising and financial restructuring.
Mr. Harding is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified in Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA). He is a member of the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors, the Association for Corporate Growth, is a past president and current treasurer of the Rotary Club of Cleveland and is involved with the finance and parish councils for The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland.
Mr. Harding graduated magna cum laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy.
