Why Sell your Company to CapitalWorks
We build businesses
We acquire companies we believe can grow or can be improved. Following acquisition, we work to identify strategies to unlock value, retain and reward great management and adhere to structural corporate governance. We support the management team to put these elements into place, then allow them to implement, lead and achieve growth.
“CapitalWorks will help us accelerate achieving the next level of performance for our company.”
Andy Sevier, President
We know what we want. We invest in lower middle-market companies based east of the Rockies. We look for a history of solid cash flow and the potential to create more value through implementing straightforward change strategies. Typically, our companies are manufacturers, although we do invest in distribution and service businesses that meet our criteria.
“CapitalWorks’ core values, business rigor and discipline perfectly complement our industry expertise and long-term vision.”
Thomas Swidarski, Chairman
We enhance our knowledge of our target industries by including active limited partners in finding, vetting and owning our portfolio companies. Partnering with successful entrepreneurs and executives who have direct experience owning and running companies in a sector makes us better investors and creates a true win-win-win for management teams, our investors and us.
“We chose CapitalWorks because they understand the values embedded in a family business.”
Ron Guenther, President
We tailor acquisition strategies to meet the needs of the seller while creating the right conditions for the business to succeed. This can include structure, timing, management and other factors based on the situation. And it includes ongoing support from the investor/advisors on our industry council, who serve as a sounding board for our CEOs, sit on the advisory boards and boards of directors.
Once a transaction is completed, the CEO is the chosen leader for our portfolio companies. We let him or her do their job. Our focus is to have the right leaders for the company and to allocate capital to the most promising purposes. We provide resources and guidance where appropriate. Otherwise, we are owners, not managers.
